Alabama National Fair
Mike and I headed out last night to enjoy some good old fashioned fair fun. I'm convinced that a fair is the same no matter where you go in America.
There was livestock.
And a Midway. Complete with a multitude of rides guaranteed to make me vomit. And also a multitude of food stands guaranteed to make me nauseous.
And strange foods.
Donuts and hamburgers? I don't know...
Yum - deep fried snickers.
Thats attractive.
And weird livestock herding. So these kids were like herding these pigs with sticks, all the while trying to keep eye contact with the judge. Kind of like a dog show. It was weird and provided us about an hour of entertainment. I don't think the serious spectators appreciated our laughter.

| See the kid in the dark shirt at the bottom of the pen? He had total creepy eye contact. We pegged him for a winner the minute he stepped into the ring! |
And of course a random concert by an early 90s boy band.
Let's hear it for Boys II Men :-)

Happy Fall
And we're back after a loooooooooooooong blog vacation. Mike and I made an end of summer resolution to take more pictures and keep up with the blog. We'll let him take the pictures and I'll try to keep up with my end.
This weekend we headed to a nearby pumpkin patch for a little fall fun. It was in the 70s if you can believe it, so although I got a little warm in my 3/4 sleeves it felt almost fall like.

We went on a hayride.
Picked our pumpkins from the patch.
Started at the exit of the corn maze and came out the entrance.
Rode the cow train. Mike almost fit!
And watched a pig race.
Yay for Fall!!! And yay for Alabama having something that resembles Fall "-)
