12 Months

Charlie is one year old!!

Hard to believe he's been part of our family for a year already!

This month we went hiking in Oak Mountain State Park (Birmingham) and Talladega National Forest.

We went on walks and played with Luna in the back yard.

We went to the science museum in Birmingham.  Charlie especially liked the water table and the fish.

Charlie got a new big boy carseat this month.  Very comfy.

He also made his first artwork at the YMCA.  The psalm is about being thankful so I'm guessing those are turkeys?  If so they need faces.

Charlie started to pull himself up and is crawling everywhere.  Including into the dogs crate.

Its been a wonderful year with our handsome little boy.  We are looking forward to many more!!

Color Run

Last weekend I ran a 5k color run in Montgomery.  I had wanted to start running again after having Charlie.  I heard about this run and I knew a couple other girls running it so it gave me some motivation to train to run 3 miles.

This is what we looked like before the run.  We made our own tutus and shirts.  We were given sunglasses even though it was a cloudy day so none of the color got in our eyes.

This is what we looked like after running the race.  There were 4 or 5 checkpoints during the race where volunteers would throw 'color' on you.  It was a powder mixture of corn starch and color.

After the race there was an 'after party'.  Basically a DJ played music and everyone threw packets of color around.

During the after party - we got a little more color on us.

At the very end we were just about to leave and I got tons of pink thrown on me.  I didn't have my sunglasses on and boy was it hard to open my eyes.  You can see my tear tracks in the picture on the right.

After the after party.  Very colorful.

I wore a trash bag on the way home so I couldn't get color all over the car.  Everything washed right off in the shower though!

Fall Fun

Now that winter seems to have finally come to Alabama (brrrr 50 degrees) lets recap what we did this fall.

The weekend before Halloween we headed to the Pumpkin Patch.

Charlie was not too sure about the corn in the sandbox.  He did of course try to eat it.

He was a big help picking out our pumpkins.

And he especially loved the tractors.

It was an exhausting day and he feel asleep on the hayride.

Later that week Charlie helped me carve his pumpkin.

After we got all the guts out I just used a drill and poked some holes in it.

Charlie was a lion for Halloween.
We didn't trick or treat in our neighborhood but we did go to a fall festival with friends on base.

And on the day of Halloween we went to the zoo with Charlie's girlfriend Elena.

The tiger came over to see us and then took a nap.
The zoo was decorated for Halloween

I enjoyed feeding the giraffes.  Charlie wasn't so sure.

Another exhausting day.
